BoxLoop keeps the collection and packing records you create in your app or browser. This notice explains the exceptions and your choices.

Information you choose to enter

BoxLoop can hold box names, internal and outer dimensions, quantities, condition, shelf location, notes, optional photos, empty weight and packaging cost. You may enter saved product profiles, order references, item names, dimensions, quantities, weights, protection gaps, packing status, history, currency and shipping tariffs. The app also stores the material-cost and tariff-estimate snapshot shown when an order is marked packed, if available. The order reference or notes may be personal data if you put a person’s details there. Avoid entering sensitive customer information you do not need.

The Quick Fit check uses the measurements you enter. The order planner calculates possible rectangular placements, highlights choices by cost, unused inside space or stock, and estimates cost using the tariffs you configure. History counts recorded uses and estimates; it does not claim measured savings. These calculations run in the app. There is no profiling or decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.

Where app data is stored

The web app stores these records in this browser’s local storage. The Android app stores them in private app storage. BoxLoop has no account, app server, advertising SDK, its own analytics SDK or automatic cloud sync. Google ML Kit collects technical usage and diagnostic data as described below. BoxLoop does not receive your collection, order CSV contents, QR values, photos or measurements through the app. Browser or device backup and sync settings are controlled by your browser or operating system, not by BoxLoop. Clearing browser storage, using another browser or uninstalling without a backup can remove your records.

Photos, camera and AI

Photos are selected only when you choose to add one. A box photo is validated, resized and stored as a PNG copy without the source image’s embedded metadata; your original remains where you keep it. Camera access is requested for the QR scanner or when you choose to photograph printed details on Android.

Android AI Scan uses a bundled on-device text-recognition model. Box label scan suggests printed dimensions and possible empty weight. Order scan suggests a reference and item rows with printed sizes and quantities. Batch scan processes up to 20 selected label photos in sequence. Single scans offer a suggested crop that you can adjust or rotate before text recognition. The temporary scan images and recognized text are used for review; only fields you select and save enter your box or order records. Scanning does not attach a photo to a box. Crop out customer names and addresses before scanning.

On compatible Android devices, the optional AI photo note uses Gemini Nano through Android AICore to suggest a short English description. The model may need a one-time download from Google. You can edit or reject the description before adding it to a box note. It cannot measure the box or verify its condition. These AI inputs are processed on the device and are not uploaded to BoxLoop. Google says ML Kit collects device and app information, identifiers, API usage and performance data for diagnostics and usage analytics. Google says ML Kit encrypts this data in transit and does not share it with third parties. See Google's ML Kit data disclosure and terms and privacy. The web app uses manual entry and has no AI photo or OCR features.

The web QR scanner uses browser camera access; where native barcode detection is unavailable, its barcode library may be loaded from jsDelivr. That library request shares ordinary request details, such as IP address and browser information, with the CDN; BoxLoop does not send your scanned QR value or collection to the CDN.

CSV imports are read in the app and added only after you confirm. JSON backup export and import use the device or browser file picker. A backup contains your box, saved product, order and tariff records, history, cost snapshots, notes and optional photos in readable form. If you save it to a cloud provider, email it or share it, that destination’s terms apply. BoxLoop does not operate that destination.

Website access and service providers

When you open the marketing site or web app, the hosting provider receives technical request data such as IP address, browser details and requested pages to deliver and protect the service. BoxLoop is hosted on Vercel and OpenAI Sites. The website serves its own images and fonts; it has no advertising trackers, analytics tags, account forms or nonessential cookies. The web app needs browser local storage to retain the information you enter. Providers may retain operational or security logs under their own policies and may process those logs in other countries. Contact us for information about a specific request or transfer.

Contacting support

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any files you choose to send. Please remove customer details and private photos unless needed to explain a problem. We use your message to respond and resolve the request. Mail addressed to boxloup.homes is forwarded by Spaceship to our Gmail inbox; both providers process the message and routing data. Replies may come from our Gmail address. We do not use support messages for marketing.

Purposes and legal basis

You control the information you enter into the local app to organise packaging and orders. For website delivery, security and answering support requests, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating BoxLoop, protecting the service and responding to users. Where applicable, we may also process a request to take steps you ask for before a contract or to comply with a legal obligation. We do not sell personal data. Providing app data is optional, although the relevant features need measurements or order details to work.

Retention and deletion

Local app data remains on your device or in your browser until you delete it in Settings, clear that app or browser storage, or uninstall the app. The Android app disables automatic app-data backup. Exports remain wherever you saved them and must be deleted there separately. The original photos are not deleted. Support correspondence is kept for the time needed to resolve the enquiry and any necessary record-keeping, then reviewed for deletion. Hosting providers control retention of their operational logs under their published policies; BoxLoop has no separate analytics retention.

Your rights and choices

You can inspect, edit, export and delete local records in the app. For personal data we hold through support or hosting, you may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability where applicable, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise a right, email privacy@boxloup.homes. We may need to verify that a request is yours. We cannot access or recover a collection that exists only on your device or browser. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office; if you are in the EEA, you may also contact your local supervisory authority.

Children and changes

BoxLoop is a packing tool for sellers and is not designed for children. We may update this notice when the product or providers change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be shown on this page before they apply.
